BESNARD, Albert (1849-1934):

Study of a Blond Girl

Etching with touches of drypoint, 1880. Godefroy/Delteil 9, third state of three. Signed in pencil

Delteil states that the print is still rare in the final state and that the plate was lost.

Provenance: The estate stamp of the artist on the verso, and “appartient à Germaine” in pencil

A fine impression with the delicate drypoint visible, printed with plate tone on sturdy, textured cream paper with wide margins. Remains of hinges on the verso, as well as old glue at the verso edges, otherwise in good condition. 151 x 100mm.
